Top 8 Opera browser addons

Opera users have been doubled specially after the latest release of it’s final version Opera 9.5 .

Opera uses the Presto Layout Engine unlike Gecko Firefox and Trident IE check here for better comparison

So . as an Opera user there is few things you need to actually say that you’ve got the MOST of Opera [ even though i doubt that as with every new release i realize that i was missing so many features ]

  1. Optimize your Ad-blocking protection
and that can be done through updating your content filtering list
    • open urlfilter.ini you’ll find that file in your profile folder
      Documents and Settings/User-Name/Application Data/Opera/profile/urlfilter.ini
    • That file tells opera what urls picture should it block ; you can copy all the text Here under [exclude] and paste it in your urlfilter.ini .and save the file [ you’re DONE ]
    • Now you have blocked so many ads that might get in your way .
    • you can also add any url you wanna block manually by adding it to the blocked content list either by the method i just explained or by opening Tools>Advanced>Blocked Content and click the add bottom
    • you can block any certain element on any web page through right click .

Note : Large urlfilter.ini file will increase startup time of Opera.

  2. Generate Strong Passwords
Online is something that every one online cares about i’m not used to invent passwords or even spend the night thinking of really strong , sophisticated password for any web-account i have .

the usage of Random Password Generator comes really helpful telling you as many suggestions as you want of secure , hard passwords the same as roboform password manager but this one is simple widget works with opera and it’s completely FREE .

  3. Checking for Duplicated Bookmarks
I’ve saved so many bookmarks and some - or many - times i always forgot whether i’ve saved that bookmark before or not so i just kept on duplicating my bookmarks
DeadLink allow you to check opera browser for duplicated bookmarks and it also checks on the availability of these bookmakrs online or not ; meaning you might have already saved certain page and after some time that page has been shutdown or removed from the servers DeadLink can tell you that and also gives you qiuck way to solve this .

  4. Editing Search Engines List
Opera gives you the ability to search any site that have search engine installed to search it directly from the search bar . but some times you need to update or move certain search engines above or below another to become more handy as it suits you more .
in that case SearchEdit will help you setting things right
SearchEdit is a Java-based editor for Opera’s search.ini. It allows moving,
editing and deleting existing search entries from the search.ini as well as
    adding/removing separators.

i’m an addicted stumbler and i’m using SU most of my time online so there MUST be some way to enable stumbling with opera .
although the main SU toolbar doesn’t support opera and only works with IE and Firefox i’ve managed to find that little but handy tool that makes opera really good called Opera-Stumbler and it’s simply menu just like File , Bookmarks , Help .. etc and that menu makes stumbling available in opera
it lacks some features that is availale in the main toolbar , but there is current project to create a FULL compatible toolbar for opera
