Removing windows messenger[Video]

images1 i’m not talking about the Windows Live Messenger that Millions uses each day .. i mean the windows original messenger the one that you already find installed after you finish XP installations .

the default windows messenger is full of crap ! and things that you don’t need at all - actually i think it has nothing to do with Instant Messaging -

so this is how to do this in very simple steps

go to your windows installation dir. usuallu c:’windows’
enter the inf folder as C:’windows’inf’
Open file called Sysoc.inf C:’windows’inf’sysoc.inf
you should make a copy of that file .. just to to be careful
Look for a line contains "msmsgs"

Another way to be just past the following in your run box

RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\inf\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

dunno really
the structure looks right !
but i've already customized my own windows version and it doesn't have that .inf
so i didn't got chance to try it .

might work .

have you tested that yourself !?

Works a treat. Always keep the bookmark handy when I am rebuilding my laptop/desktop. End of the day atleast there is a way to remove it :)

TBH , if it works as simple as it seems to be . well i think it would be even better than the way i found :)

and yes having a list of stuff to do with your OS each time you reinstall / rebuild something is essential
